Encoding directly from DVDs doesn't work properly. For best results, convert VOB files generated with DVDRip.Generated AVIs might not work correctly with MediaPlayer 6.4 under Windows 98 but it works OK with revious
versions. It seems to be a bug in this version of MediaPlayer The Microsoft Windows Media Audio Codecs and MP3
codec cannot be used.Always use the "preview" button to toggle the display of video while encoding. Using the
ActiveMovie window's close button will immediately stop the encoding process. After encoding, in some situations
you cannot change any parameters and encode another file. If this happens, quit out from VOB2AVI, and reload.
Source VOB files MUST contain audio, otherwise they cannot be converted. Audio is always encoded as 48000Hz
16-bit stereo, using the selected audio Codec. On some VOBs, conversion may stop part-way through encoding.
There is no fix for this at the present time, although regrabbing the VOB and re-encoding may work.
Although this program uses DirectShow, it will only work with the XingDVD MPEG-2 and AC3 Decoders. Future
versions will hopefully fix this. The Time Remaining indication doesn't work when using certain video compressors. |
